Dr. Va\u0161\u00ed\u010dek is collaborating with Tomas Bata University in Zl\u00edn on the development of a laboratory-grown model of the human small intestine that could significantly improve early-stage drug testing. The project, led by a team from the Centre of Polymer Systems, aims to create a human-relevant alternative to animal testing for evaluating new drugs in the initial phases of development.<\/p>

Supported by a grant from the Czech Science Foundation (GA \u010cR), the research focuses not only on building the model itself but also on understanding the interactions between biomaterials and living cells, which is essential for creating a realistic intestinal tissue model.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
