Doctoral defence of Míša Chorvátová

On 21 February our colleague Míša Chorvátová successfully defended her PhD thesis. Míša graduated in engineering at the Faculty of Chemistry at the VUT, but immersed herself in the world of biology with a focus on immunology.

Thesis title: Regulation of lymphocyte response by selective casein kinase 1 family inhibitors

This study explores the role of Casein Kinase 1 (CK1) isoforms in T cell biology, focusing on their impact on development, activation, differentiation, cytokine production, and immune responses. Using selective CK1α/δ/ε and δ/ε inhibitors, they conducted in vitro experiments on human helper T cells and in vivo studies in murine models. Their findings provide insights into CK1’s influence on thymocyte development, immune organ homeostasis, and its potential to modulate pathological immune reactions in the OVA-DTH model.

Congratulations to Míša on achieving her PhD!
